film, sculpture, video
The film uses sculptural lenses (created during a current artist residency at Bullseye Glass Co.) to exaggerate perceptible phenomena, as allusion to that which our sense are not designed to perceive. Like good science fiction, its sound and vision are transporting, not to another place but to a different attunement to the reality we find ourselves in.
Eye On The Sparrow was commissioned by sound artist Chuck Johnson, for his eponymous composition on his current album, Balsams. The glass and video work featured will be on view in my solo exhibition, The Beginning Was The End / New Work, at Pro Arts Gallery in Oakland, CA, opening July 7, 2017.
