Finalist: Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship

I am thrilled to be a finalist for Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship in 2015. Douglas Herman, Senior Geographer at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian, nominated me so that we may collaborate on tools combining new media and indigenous knowledge, extending my research for The Beginning Was The End.

In a LASER devoted to Stanford Arts Institute’s year-long, cross-disciplinary project, “Imagining the Universe: Cosmology in Art and Science”, I will be presenting on the cosmology of Central Java. This project brings together scientists, artists, and humanists to explore the nature of the universe.
